On 7 March 2023, in Hanoi, a ceremonial meeting was held to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Joint Russian-Vietnamese Tropical Research and Technology Centre (hereinafter referred to as the Tropical Centre).

The event started with the meeting of Co-Chairmen of Coordination Committee Hoang Xuan Tien, P.A. Kucherenko with participation of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russian Federation in Socialist Republic of Vietnam G.S. Bezdetko.

An exhibition and screening of a documentary film about the Tropical Centre were also opened for the participants of the Ceremonial Meeting.

Major General Dang Hong Chiena, Director General of the Vietnamese part of the Tropical Centre, delivered a speech at the official opening ceremony.

Also, in the official part of the opening ceremony the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Russian part of the Coordination Committee of the Tropical Centre P.A. Kucherenko took the floor.

The Russian delegation also included Deputy Executive Director for International Scientific and Technical Cooperation – Zadorina Anastasia.
